OTHER MINISTRIES
MEMBER CARE
The Member Care Ministries focus on caring for the practical needs of visitors, new members, long-time members and shut-ins.
The First Touch team concentrates on visitors and newer members, helping them feel welcome. Assimilation works toward helping people get integrated into the life of the church. Congregation Care does hospital and nursing home visits, sends cards to shut-ins, and cares for grieving members of our family. The Funeral Team provides funeral dinners and compassionate care to grieving families who have their services at FBC. The Wedding Team serves families who have chosen FBC to host their wedding ceremony and/or reception.
WORSHIP & MEDIA
The Worship and Media ministry is focused on everything that happens in the Worship Center on a Sunday morning, as well as the community-facing communication.
The Usher team provides information and assistance to guests who choose to worship with us on Sunday. The Communion Preparation team prepares and serves the Communion elements on the first Sunday of the month. The media team produces videos and the powerpoint support for our Sunday services. The worship service is carefully and prayerfully planned by the Worship Planning team. The Social Media and Website team works hard to communicate clearly and consistently with the church and the "outside world".
CARE GROUPS
The Care Groups ministry is involved with starting, training and maintaining our Home Care Groups and Sunday School Care Groups.
In a church body as large as First Baptist, we have to work harder to make sure we are in relationships with one another. Our goal is for everyone to have seven friends, and groups are a great way to meet people and build lasting relationships.
CHURCH ADMIN
A church the size of First Baptist has a lot of moving parts - on a Sunday and through the week. The Church Administration deals with many of those parts.
The Office Volunteers team performs office tasks, greets visitors, answers the phone and updates the Realm database as required. The Church Decorating Team makes the church beautiful for the various holidays and throughout the year. The Safety and Health team, which is comprised of the medical team (nurses and doctors) and the various security teams, provides a safe place for people to come and worship the God of the universe.
